This Week I’ve Been… #10

Another week, another exciting trip! I’m now back from Texas, but most of my week was spent there so I’ve got a few more cowboy moments to share with you! Plus, arriving home to tons of parcels, including one which is particularly out of this world! Literally!

This Week I’ve Been…

… Embracing my inner Cowgirl at the Salt Lick BBQ. To take a break from the madness of the SXSW festival, a group of us headed into the countryside to the Salt Lick BBQ, about 40 minutes drive from the centre of Austin. What awaited us was the most incredible BBQ I’ve ever experienced! All the meat you can eat, all cooked in that delicious Texas way, followed by a monstrous slice of Choc Chip cake and a wodge of Ice Cream. I can’t wait to write up a full post on this… !

… Testing out my lovely Triangl bikini! I packed this beauty just in case we had a chance to sunbathe, and although those moments were rare, it was just so lovely to feel the sun on my body! I swear my legs hadn’t seen the sun in at least 6 months!

… Swinging my Cowboy hat at the Austin Rodeo! The best way to experience true Texas culture has to be visiting a Rodeo, and we were in luck! The Rodeo was in town while we were there, so we headed out of town to what can only be described as a football stadium sized barn, complete with large arena area where we watched sports such as Bareback Riding, Mutton Bustin’, and Saddle Bronc Riding. The atmosphere in the barn was better than that at English Rugby games, and the crowd treat the Cowboys like celebs, queuing up for autographs after their challenges!

… Arriving home to lots of lovely treats. My favourite of which was a big black box with no markings on it, which I opened up to find the stunning new Thierry Mugler fragrance; Angel. I thought the perfume was an incredible gift by itself, but then I rustled through the tissue to find a silver box, with ‘ Your Very Own Star ‘ written on it… surely not… But yes! Unbelievably the lovely team behind Theirry Mugler had sent us the gift of our very own star, so I am now the proud owner of The Josie Star, which you can find in the Pegasus Constellation!

… Catching up with blogger pals at the Bourjois event. Fresh off the plane, I headed to the London Edition hotel on Thursday evening to learn all about the beautiful new collection from Bourjois. I tried out their lovely new lip range, including the Rouge Aqua – I am officially obsessed with the shade Rose on the Rocks!

What have you been up to this week?
