The Spring Beauty Edit

It’s been a little while since I posted an ‘everyday makeup’ type look, and with all the new spring launches as well as warm weather (yay!) my everyday makeup menu has changed quite a lot recently.  The main changes I make as the seasons change from Winter to Spring include replacing my beloved foundation for a lighter base, and skipping out on eyeliner in favour of long flirty lashes – and I’ve already discovered the perfect products for achieving these things.
Living in London I always feel like I need some products to give a helping hand in giving my complexion a radiance boost, and so for this I have been using the new . I wrote briefly about it in my March Favourites, and I foresee this being a favourite all Summer long. It gives a very natural look and offers hydration and pollution protection, I often skip out my moisturiser so all that I apply prior to the Complexion base is my serum, then the next step is my Tinted Moisturiser. It corrects imperfections and gives my skin such a pretty fresh glow – I think that using this makes me want to wear foundation even less, as it seems such a shame to cover up a good skin day!
Also in my March Favourites was the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. I’ve seen this getting so much love from Beauty Bloggers and it’s easy to see why – this product is just fabulous. The feeling upon application is a little more than a moisturiser, but far less than a foundation. It’s silky and creamy and so bendable and also buildable. I apply another light layer over my chin and cheeks if there are any imperfections, and finish with a dusting of the Bare Minerals powder to set it in place. My skin feels clean and fresh all day, and I never get that ‘cant wait to scrub my face’ feeling after a day in the city.
For Bronzer, I’ve been applying a light (very light, this stuff is strong! ) dusting of the new Clarins Bronzer which is soon to be launched as part of their Summer Aquatics range. I totally forgot to include it in this photo but i’ll be writing a full review of the new Clarins launches very soon, and you can also see it in the top left image from my This Week I’ve Been post here. Next, a light sweep of my – I talk about my love for this so much that I won’t go on too much here, but has anyone tried the Max Factor baked blushers? I hear they are so similar!
I’ve been mixing in the on days when I am after a more intense blush (usually the days when I go a little lighter on my eye makeup) – I find the cream formula works so well with the Bare Minerals base and I love the glow that it gives my cheeks.
For a much more fresh and light look on the eyes, I’ve been using yet another lovely Clarins new release; the in Nude Pink. It has super lasting power and I just adore the light pink glow that it gives my lids, and finishing with several lashings of the new just gives such a pretty, wide eyed look that there is no need for liner.
All that’s needed on the lips is a subtle colour, but one that lasts well between touch ups, and I’ve been really enjoying using the new Clinique Lip Pop Primers (also in March Faves!). The colour range is beautiful, and I’ve fallen in love with several of the pinky tones – the texture is creamy and almost balm like, and it looks beautiful layered with a lip balm for an even more subtle sheen.
I’ve fallen in love (again) with the Real Techniques Bold Metals brushes for creating my Spring beauty looks; their bristles are so fine and soft that it’s such a pleasure to apply the products, they seem to pick up the perfect amount of product and create a flawless finish. I’ve also been reaching for my Zoeva Silk Finish buffing brush for giving my base that airbrush finish.
