This Week I’ve Been… #13

When putting theses posts together, I usually flick through my iCloud to remind myself what pictures I’ve taken that week, then pull out the ones that represent the most memorable moments. This week I thought to myself ‘Oh no, I’m really going to struggle to have enough to talk about!’ but now having flicked through my iCloud, well, I was wrong! Loads of fun things happened this week, and most importantly, the sun came out! I love the first hints of Summer, everyone’s mood is lifted, people look and feel better – and it means I can wear skirts, dresses and sandals! Yay!
This Week I’ve Been…
… To some really fab press days! First was a Neutrogena launch, the brand known for their extreme moisturisation products is now focusing on improving the elasticity of our skin, and so to they launched their new range at the Heartcore fitness gym and invited fitness instructor Jess Schuring to show us some exercises to boost our own elasticity! Then further in the week was the Debenhams Beauty Press Day, and I’m always so amazed as to how much effort and detail goes into these events! From the air hostess at the door welcoming us ‘on-board’ to the cloud-wallpapered elevator, to the holiday themed Photo Booth! Above you can see my #DebsBeautyBuzz selfie with the lovely Too Faced Contour palette, snapped as my entry to win a stay at Dormy House. Also on that day was the Whistles press day, which gave me major apartment envy! Set in a bright spacious loft above Covent Garden, the collection featured a luxe mix of shearling fabrics, leathers and nude shades mixed with mustard, oxblood and navy tones. I can’t wait for it to hit the stores!
… Shown how to really apply my makeup with a Bobbi Brown masterclass. In their Covent Garden studio I met the lovely Renatto for a masterclass to show me the best ways to apply makeup which will really suit my face and skin type. I left of course with a ginormous Bobbi wishlist but more importantly, far more confident in how to do my makeup in a way that looks great on me. I’d been stuck in a rut with my eyes, doing the same thing every day, but I was shown a new, slightly bolder way of using shadows and liners to create a totally different look. Makeup Masterclasses are free and available in all stores.
… Fan-girling when I met Liz Earle! On a beautiful warm evening, Liz Earle invited a few beauty bloggers up to the penthouse at the Ham Yard Hotel to launch their re-invented hair range. The lady herself along with hair expert Johnnie Sapong, and Botanist James Wong talked us through the new products which include just one shampoo (like the cleanser it should suit all hair types) and three conditioners according to your hair, such as one for Normal, Dry / Damaged, or Fine / Oily. Also in the range is a Nourishing Hair Oil (all of the above I’m already loving but will be reviewing soon!) and each contain a new ingredient; known as the ‘desert jewel’ the Kalahari Melon oil which softens, moisturises, and adds the most beautiful shine.
… Experiencing a new kind of spin class! When I was invited to try out Psycle, I knew it would be better than the spin classes I’d previously been to, but what I experienced was, well, it was something else! Starting with the Eucalyptus scented studio, there were so many small touches which make the classes here so brilliant. From the instructors themselves, ( I had Marie who was fabulous ) who really inspire you to work your absolute hardest, to the music created by the in-house DJ and club-like lights in the spin studio, everything is set up to make your Psycle spin an incredible experience. I left the class feeling totally worn out but at the same time invigorated, and after I’d pampered myself with the Bumble & Bumble and Ila beauty products I felt totally awake, uplifted, and ready to tackle anything the day could throw at me! It’s a relatively expensive obsession (yep, I’m using that word because I think I’m obsessed, I’ve told everyone that I’ve met since the class that they HAVE to go) at £20 a class, but it’s not just exercise, it’s a whole experience. You can try out your first two classes for £20, and bring a buddy along for free – do it!
… Lusting over my long-awaited bag! After spotting it on the Instagram of a blogger that I discovered while in SXSW (The Darling Detail) I knew the Marbled beauty had to be mine! I had to have it shipped over from the states, but made up for this by the fact that it was ridiculously reduced in Nordstrom and, well, look at it! It’s beautiful. Warning you right now, it’s going to be appearing a lot on my instagram and in OOTD posts for the whole of Summer, and beyond!

What have you been up to this week?
