Autumn in Amsterdam

Last weekend, rather than hitting the shows at PFW, Charlie and I opted to go on a trip to Amsterdam to discover the city. Having met each other in the most exotic of destinations, travelling together is what Charlie and I do best, so when IceLolly.com invited us to discover Amsterdam, we jumped at the chance to visit a new place.
Amsterdam, and Holland in general, was a place I didn’t know much about (aside from the fact that prostitutes and certain drugs are legal here!), so I had no preconceptions, and no idea what I’d discover when I got off the plane.

There was something very familiar about Amsterdam, from the cool boutiques in unpretentious neighbourhoods, the welcoming cafes that we stumbled across, and the way that the friendly locals dressed. It’s easy to picture yourself living in Amsterdam, that’s how homely and welcoming the city felt, each restaurant or cafe owner greeted us as though we were a ‘regular’, and after just one day exploring we felt as though we knew our way around the beautiful canals and cobbled streets.
A hefty neighbourhood guide is on it’s way, but until then, here’s the outfit that I wore on our first day of exploring!
!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);
