Only Navy Will Do
For my second #ootd wearing my grey Frankie jeans, I’ve opted for a much more relaxed paired down look. Relaxed for me doesn’t have to mean unfashionable or unflattering, in fact this is a look which I’d quite happily wear for a shopping date as I would to take Dexter for a walk on Clapham Common.
Navy is such a classic colour. A colour with royal connotations, timeless style and universally flattering. My navy jumper and coat are by Crew, my one stop shop for outdoorsy type clothing which I know will remain fashionable for seasons to come. Simple design details like hip pockets on a striped knit jumper, and caramel piping on a navy quilted jacket are just little touches which show off the quality of these pieces.
While my classic denim jeans wouldn’t go amiss with this navy ensemble, my grey Dorothy Perkins jeans are a neutral tone which softens the look, and the soft stretchy fabric is perfect for the outdoor pursuits that this ensemble calls for.
I finished the look with leg lengthening grey angle boots – an easy trick to give the illusion of longer legs is to match your boot colour with your denim, and these Ofelia boots from Dorothy Perkins are an absolute steal in the sale at the moment, plus the gold detail on the heel adds that feminine touch.
