Last week, Charlie and I were invited on a whirlwind trip to Monaco as guests of Azzaro – a luxury fashion house who are launching a new Men’s fragrance; Azzaro Wanted. Inspired by the lifestyle of the Azzaro gentleman, our trip included private lunches with Mr Clarins himself, a helicopter trip to Cannes and a yacht trip around the Cote d’Azur. We experienced luxury and refined elegance, a glimpse of the good life, and the high quality and excellence that you expect from one of the world’s most exclusive fragrance houses.
During the stay, we were guests of the Hotel Hermitage, located in the heart of the buzzing Monaco area, where the entire town was poised ready for the start of the Monaco Grand Prix, taking place today. As for our itinerary, each moment was packed with delights and surprises – living out fantasies that both Charlie and I would never have dreamt would have been possible, but this is the lifestyle of Azzaro – taking chances and enjoying your time to shine.
As for the scent itself, revealed to us in the most spectacular way at the JW Mariott hotel in Cannes, the fragrance is exactly what I love in a men’s scent. Woody, warm and spicy, it’s sophisticated yet comforting, in a way that can be worn both as an every day scent and an evening one too. Notes are of lemon and ginger, before revealing a warm middle note of Guatemalan cardamom and juniper, with vetiver and tonka bean as the base notes.
And what does one wear to arguably the most glamorous and fabulous event I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending? I opted for an elegant, feminine Self Portrait dress in pure white for that Riviera Chic look, combined with my most luxurious accessories – both shoes and bag by Valentino. But of course the evening was all about the boys, and Charlie looked every part the sophisticated gentleman in his tuxedo.
