A one night stay in the countryside recently gave me the opportunity to evaluate what my true essentials are. With just one holdall and three outfit changes within it, beauty product space was limited, leaving no room for extras or those ‘Just In Case’ pieces.
A night, or weekend retreat is a great opportunity to escape the everyday routine, but it doesn’t mean you have to forego your home luxuries! So I have compiled a short but concise list of the products that I found myself unable to live without, even it it is just for one night.
First Things First
Before the beauty products, come the practical ones, and if you watched my recent favourites video you won’t be surprised to learn that my first essential is my Philips Sonicare Toothbrush.Since getting my brace, i’ve been even more obsessed with my teeth – your smile is often the first thing people notice about you, so for the past few months I’ve really been stepping up my routine to ensure it’s the best it can possibly be. I’d often wondered before about how a ‘high end’ toothbrush can really be that different to a cheaper one, and after using the Philips Sonicare it’s become obvious. Within a few days of using the powerful toothbrush, my teeth and mouth feel deeply cleansed, and within a week my teeth were noticeably whiter. With 5 cleaning modes including one for sensitive teeth, the toothbrush is just as advanced as my other appliances. We invest in our hair tools, our cleansers, so why not our teeth?!
What makes the Philips Sonicare perfect for travel (aside from the fact that my morning routine would no longer be complete without it) is it’s beautiful carry case. As elegant in design as the toothbrush itself, the pink hard shell case protects the brush inside, and can even be plugged in to charge up the toothbrush. Yep, you read that right! The case CHARGES the toothbrush. You shouldn’t need to charge it on your weekend away though, as each charge lasts around 3 weeks.
