Clarins Fall 2016 Makeup Collection
Clarins makeup collection launches have always been a favourite of mine. The one drop that you can guarantee will blow you away with their colours, their beauty, and their wearability. You may remember my previous reviews of Clarins collections, all of which have been glowing, literally, and the Fall 2016 drop is no different.
The collection is more intense, the looks that can be created vary from dewy and natural, to an impactful and captivating look. There are new 4-colour eyeshadow palettes, each of them giving day to night incredibly wearable options, and reinforced skincare enriched with mineral pigments, carnauba wax and cornstarch to give intense pigments.
My personal highlight is the new BB Skin Detox Fluid which you’ll probably recognise if you’ve been watching my videos – it’s quickly become my go to base for a fresh, glowing and healthy complexion.
There are three new Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors within the Clarins Fall collection. I adore the pink shimmer shade (left in image above) which adds just a hint of shine and truly perfects lips i the most comfortable way. I love to layer over a lipstick for a more intense look, or wear alone for a natural but polished finish.
Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors are £18.00 each.
I’ve always adored Clarins lip balms, and the Daily Energiser Beauty Balm (top image, right) is already a firm favourite. As a good lip balm should be, it’s nourishing and repairing and provides hours of delicious moisture, but it also gives lips a delicate touch of pinkness thanks to it’s formula which creates the perfect pink shade for your lips. I love to wear this on no makeup days for comfort, and a touch of feminine colour.
Clarins Daily Energiser Beauty Balm is £16.00
Have you ever seen a more beautiful selection of shades?
With Nude, Brown, Rosewood and Oud, each palette offers a different array of Autumnal shades, while all offering the ability to create a subtle wash of colour, or a bold and glittering smokey eye for an intense look. This season, the shades are more pigmented and powerful than ever before, and in my opinion, the choice for which palette to pick up is harder than ever! As a green eyed girl, the pinky tones in the Rosewood palette (second from the left in above image) is the one I reach for most regularly, using the lightest shade to highlight the brow bone, while the darker shades create depth and contour on the crease. The colours can be applied dry, or with a damp brush for a more intense look. I’ve been using a wet liner brush to line my eyes with the deeper shades from the palette, perfect for adding depth to the lower lash line.
Clarins 4 Colour Eyeshadow Palettes are £34 each.
As mentioned previously, for me, the highlight of the collection is the BB Skin Detox Fluid. If, like me, you adore a natural base that covers imperfections but still truly looks like skin, then you’ll love it to.
Skin can still breathe thanks to the light texture, and the BB cream offers hydration and protection to the skin all day long. I’ve become addicted to the healthy glow that it gives, and I apply with a beauty blender sponge for a light and very natural finish, or with a brush or my fingers if I want to build the texture.
There is so much hype in the beauty industry at the moment around protecting our skin from pollution and environmental aggressors, and the Skin Detox Fluid contains Clarins’ exclusive anti-pollution complex, making it the perfect choice for a city skincare routine. Oh, and it’s SPF 25 too!
Clarins BB Skin Detox Fluid is £30.00
Clarins have improved their formula within their mascara to enhance our lashes with extra volume, day after day. The Supra Volume Mascara not only provides instant volume and intense colour (either black or brown) but also contains Volume Boost complex, which gives lashes a fuller look after a month of use. I’ve been applying the brown formula on a daily basis, opting for the slightly softer colour which can often be more flattering on paler skin tones.
Clarins Supra Mascara are £21.50 each.
Claris have released a limited edition Trio of Hand Creams; with three new scented hand and nail treatment creams within a beautiful pouch. The new scents of orange blossom, white tea leaf and fig leaf are all instantly likeable, and the perfect size for travel, or popping in your handbag.
What I adore about Clarins hand creams is the lingering scent, but also the speed at which the cream is absorbed, giving long lasting moisturisation without a greasy feeling stopping you from doing anything productive in the minutes after application!
The Trio of Hand Creams is £25.00
