My Three Favourite Accessories – and an #OOTD I can’t stop wearing…

Accessories have always been an incredibly important part of my wardrobe

It’s the small details that truly finish off an outfit to perfection, and can totally switch up a simple outfit to a fabulous one. As someone who adores new trends but doesn’t have the budget to build an entirely new wardrobe when the seasons change, accessories for me are also a way of adding on-trend design details into my outfit but without splurging on rail after rail of new garments. Equally, I like to invest in classic pieces that will be on trend for many years to come, and this fine balance over time has lead me to call myself the owner of a rather perfect collection of accessories.

In today’s post I wanted to share with you three of my current favourites. All of which are new over the past couple of weeks and months, but they are timeless styles which will remain in my wardrobe for years to come. As I mentioned in yesterday’s video, it is these timeless pieces that I am happy to splurge on just that little bit more – as I know that the price per wear will work out incredibly favourably, as I work them into outfit after outfit….

Speaking of outfits, this one is a current favourite. Since returning from the Maldives, I have been determined to show off my tan to the best of my abilities, and that means that the second the sun shines in London, my legs are out and I am reaching for white knits to contrast my sun kissed skin. This outfit does just that, and this suede skirt is swiftly becoming a favourite – I wear it with knitwear and blouses alike and I just adore the light shade and flattering length and silhouette. Equally, this floral sleeved jumper is a beautiful statement piece, the V neck allows my necklace and other jewellery to be seen, while the sleeves are a real talking point.

The Timepiece

How we embellish our wrists is an incredibly personal choice. Even back in my school days, I would always be the one getting told off for wearing too many bracelets, but for me, this was where I could let my personality, or even mood for the day show through. Over the past few years, I’ve kept my watch and jewellery style fairly simple and elegant; I know that I adore pastels, rose gold, and delicate, feminine bracelets and watches.

For my watch, as you know I adore my Cluse designs, and a new addition to my collection is this stunning La Roche Rose Gold design. Featuring a dove grey soft leather strap and a rose gold finished casing, it is bold and eye catching, yet delicate and subtle enough to work with all of my Spring #ootds. What drew me to it initially though is the beautiful marble dial. The genuine marble watch face is created from raw stone, so each watch is one of a kind. It matches my style perfectly and has become my everyday go-to style.

The Bag

I’m not one to shy away from the fact that I simply love to invest in bags. My designer bag collection is slowly but surely growing – but without endless flows of money I always stick to incredibly classic designs when it comes to saving up for a designer bag. For the more trend led pieces, I opt for more affordable, but equally well designed and crafted bags from retailers and designers with a reputation for quality. I’d always adored the Cambridge Satchel Company designs, but it took a while before I found one that truly resonated with my own style, but recently – I fell in love. The Poppy backpack is a small and elegant backpack, and I discovered it in this spectacular rose gold saffiano leather. Being a backpack it is just so practical, yet it also looks fabulous as a hand-held, like I styled it in today’s post.

The Shoes

Finally, a third accessory which I can’t stop wearing – my new mules from Nicholas Kirkwood. I never thought I would find myself investing in flat shoes. As a petite, I rely on the boost I get from heels, but after spotting these on Farfetch, I simply couldn’t resist. At just over £300 they are an investment piece, yet already I have worn them so, so many times. I am so careful about my high price purchases, and am yet to make a decision I regret when it comes to shoes or bags – if you’d like to know my tips on how to choose investment pieces, then check out another of my posts here.

The gold toned Beya Flat Mules are superbly comfortable thanks to the soft leather, and the gold makes them work with many of my Spring outfits – I predict you’ll be seeing a LOT more from these over the coming months!
