3 Days in NYC with Kate Spade Eyewear

New York City is quickly becoming one of my favourite places to visit. Each time I go, I discover new things to do, places to stay, and areas to visit, and this most recent trip that you may have already spotted on my YouTube channel here was hands down my favourite trip to New York. With a dreamy itinerary created by the Kate Spade Eyewear team, we spent two days in the city with them as they showed us the NYC highlife, before also spending a final day exploring just Charlie and I. Here’s what we got up to and of course, what I wore!

Day one began with a session of filming as we took our first steps into New York’s Soho district. Our hotel, The Crosby Street Hotel was perfectly located in what has now become my favourite district of NYC; and perfectly photogenic too with cobbled streets and plenty of cute cafes and restaurants. After filming some scenes to show you more about my experience in New York with Kate Spade Eyewear, we headed to Sant Ambroeus on Lafayette Street for some much needed coffee and breakfast. Now, when I travel to the U.S, the diet and care for calories is non-existent, so naturally I went for the American pancakes with a healthy topping of maple syrup!

A quick outfit change, and it was time to head to the four floor Kate Spade flagship on Madison Avenue to see more of the eyewear collection – and let me tell you, it’s shopping paradise! Stepping inside, you’re instantly faced with the Madision Avenue collection which is exclusive to the flagship – with more premium price points, the pieces have a haute couture feel to them with design details including intricate embellishments and luxurious fabrics. As you venture further into the store you find yourself in a stationary lovers paradise; 2018 diaries in the signature Kate Spade gold and white stripes, notebooks, pretty pens, stationary sets and thermal flasks – all perfect stocking fillers for the festive season ahead! We ventured up to the second and third floors to discover the footwear, clothing, and even more pieces that would be perfect for gifting or treating yourself – watch my vlog for more shopping snippets!

After yet another outfit change, this time incorporating some pieces that I picked up from the Kate Spade flagship (how adorable are these ear muffs with the pearl headband and slogan grey tote bag?!) it was time for an afternoon filled with more wonderful activities. We enjoyed a hearty lunch at the BG cafe within Bergdorf Goodman on Fifth Avenue; a Chicken Broth soup to warm us up, followed by a delicious bowl of Truffle Gnocchi; all while enjoying incredible views over Central Park.

After lunch, we were whisked away to the helipads on the banks of the Hudson river, for a helicopter ride over Manhattan! This was the part of the itinerary I’d most looked forward to – something I’d wanted to do for so many years and it didn’t disappoint! You can really grasp the magnitude of the city from above, and it’s by far the greatest way to see all of the iconic sights! From the Empire State Building to the Statue of Liberty, as well as the iconic World Trade Centre and Yankee Stadium! The impressive buildings looked equally breathtaking from above, and after 45 minutes in the air we finished by swooping over Brooklyn Bridge, before descending back onto Manhattan Island.

Day one finished with a delicious dinner at While We Were Young; an instagram worthy restaurant that Charlie and I first discovered on our trip to New York back in March. With marble tables, floral cocktails and pink neon signs – it’s a bloggers dream! Once again, we both opted for the Kale Waffle & Buttermilk Chicken main course which was absolutely scrumptious!

Day Two in New York City began with brunch at Balthazar to fuel us up ahead of a chilly but beautiful walk across the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Here we filmed our final scenes for the Kate Spade Eyewear video, we felt like the stars of a new Sex and The City series as we strutted across the bridge surrounded by the camera crew, taking selfies and showing off our beautiful Kate Spade Eyewear!

To celebrate the end of a successful couple of days filming, we treated ourselves to manicures at the iconic New York salon; Paint Box, before saying our farewells and heading our separate ways!
