Meet your new Summer BFF
Finding the perfect Summer dress is something I aspire to every year. You know the kind of dress I mean – the dress that becomes your best friend, she accompanies you to all kinds of events and outings, whether that’s a day out shopping, a garden party, a weekend city or beach break, or a day at the races or to a friends engagement party. This dress is reliable. She makes you look and feel great, you always feel comfortable and never self conscious, and she flatters you and brings out your best features. This dress is the holy grail of your Summer wardrobe, as long as you know she’s there, you don’t have to worry about that dreaded early morning fluster of worrying what to wear. Your perfect summer dress works with a casual knit thrown over the shoulders, she works with wedge sandals, flat shoes, glamorous heels. Let me first introduce you to Ambery. For our recent trip to Amalfi, the dress was perfect. The luxurious silk material makes for a soft and lightweight feel to the dress, while the bold red and white stripe print makes a fun statement, while the soft drape of the material keeps this dress wearable and relaxed. With a flattering v-neck front and back, it’s perfect for showing off a statement necklace or a subtle tan (mine’s fake, but don’t tell anyone!) and the shirred waistband pinches you in in all the right places for flattering silhouette and – most importantly for a trip to Italy – the forgiving shape allows you to indulge in as much pasta and pizza as your heart desires – and no one will ever be able to tell!
I wore the Ambery dress twice throughout our 3 day trip – firstly on a cooler evening with a white knit over my shoulders (above), and secondly on a warmer day paired with a fabulous raffia clutch – isn’t it fun?! The natural straw clutch adds a paired-back and relaxed vibe to the dress, making the occasion wear piece suitable for a day at the beach and ultra on-trend.

When it comes to packing for a weekend break, versatility is key so for my second outfit, I also paired with the Daisy Wedge sandals. If you’re running low on space in your cabin back – I highly recommend travelling in your wedges; they’re not only the most versatile of your summer shoe collection, but the most comfortable too!
Both the red and white Ambery dress and the Eve dress below are perfect for when you have limited luggage space; they’re both ultra lightweight and roll up into a tiny space – plus no need for ironing either – so plenty of room in your case to bring home that extra bottle of Limoncello!
Eve is another fabulous dress from L.K.Bennett’s latest collection that is an instant go-to for many a summer occasion. For a smart dinner at our lovely hotel in Amalfi, it was an instant decision thanks to the timeless style of the pretty floral dress. With simple ruching detail and a flattering tie waist detail, there’s just the right amount of detail on the simple style. Inspired by vintage ‘tea dress’ designs, the feminine style works perfectly with the rest of my Summer wardrobe. I styled once again with the L.K.Bennett wedges, and elevated the look with the beautiful Amelia Bag – complete with metallic thread detail which compliments the metallic detail in the dress.
