Mixing Highstreet with High End This Summer
I’m actually yet to meet a person who will only wear high end pieces. Even those who can afford a wardrobe full of Birkin handbags, will carefully select pieces from the highstreet to wear with there super luxury investment pieces. Summer is the best time of year to experiment, and have a little more fun with fashion, and I’ve always said that whenever experimenting with your style; whether that’s opting for a bold colour, or a printed dress, or a skirt in a new length or material, it’s best to start with more affordable highstreet pieces that enable you to switch up your look, without risking spending hundreds of pounds on something you later decide doesn’t quite work for you.
It’s possible to fine timeless, refined pieces on the highstreet than can enable you to rotate more outfits with your investment pieces. When looking for pieces that will fit with my wardrobe, I usually opt for neutral colours (what a surprise!) and in Summer I adore broderie anglaise as a material, as well as the usual suspects. This skirt from Zara has been a huge favourite, I adore the high waisted design, and it works seamlessly with some of my higher priced items such as the silk top from Reiss.

Jewellery truly has the power to enhance an outfit and none more so that luxury pieces. I’ve always been a fan of choosing far fewer jewellery pieces to add to my collection, but carefully curating a small collection of pieces that truly represent my style, and will work with many, if not all of my outfits. I had the opportunity to work with OMEGA lately (I know, what a dream!) and here I am wearing their spectacular flower collection which you may also have spotted on my Instagram, and in my Spring Lookbook video on YouTube recently too. Crafted from 18k red gold, and beautiful mother-of-pearl, these feminine yet timeless pieces are the most wonderful addition to a Spring or Summer outfit, and they’re pieces that I’ll cherish for a lifetime and pass on to future generations.
I’ve spoken about my love for my Mulberry Seaton bag a lot recently, it’s size is so perfect for a day bag, without the temptation of over filling it! The handheld style is absolutely chic, while the shoulder strap makes for a practical addition should you need it. The soft but deep pink shade stands out amongst the sea of light pinks, white and beige tones in my wardrobe, but fits with all of my outfits just perfectly. As it’s Mulberry, you can rest assured that the craftsmanship and quality is second to none.
When mixing highstreet and high end, a luxury bag is the perfect finishing touch to an outfit to give the whole look a polished and luxurious finish, and the Mulberry Seaton certainly is the most fabulous way to finish the look.
I completed the look with some beautiful low block heel sandals which were an absolute steal from Shopaholics (they stock Kurt Geiger and other brands at a huge discount) – the pink scallop detail is the perfect feminine touch, and they are the perfect height for wearing all day.
