Carry-On Essentials for a Summer Break

With Summer-Holiday season fast approaching, now is the time when we are thinking about what to pack in our carry-on bag. With the 100ml restriction, our beauty bags require a little more planning and organisation – and being super nosy I always love to know what products make the grade for other people. So I’ve decided to share with you the beauty products that I’ve packed in my hand luggage for our summer holiday.

First up is the Naked Flushed palette – this handy 3 in one has been a handbag staple for a while now (see my review post here!)  so i’ll be packing this as well as my tiny Dior brush which can be used for all three of the sections. The palette also has a large mirror – so no more trips to the tiny aeroplane toilets for a pre-landing touch up!

I love minis. I love free samples. I hoard them all under my bed and could pretty much open a store with all the samples I have lying around – so fortunately I have plenty to choose from when it comes to filling up my carry on bag! Firstly, this adorable mini Mermaid fragrance – it is light and musky, with vanilla and floral notes – and not too overpowering. It’s also a roll-on, which is handy as you don’t want to be spritzing on the plane – and upsetting your fellow passengers! Another favourite is my Ren lip balm – they must be a popular travel essential as they come free in the First goody bag on BA – and I always have one with me when I travel as it’s tiny, light, and delivers intense moisturisation. Other essentials include the Pericone MD No Foundation Foundation to give my skin a much needed boost after the drying air con on the plane, as well as these facial cleansing wipes in a handy mini pack from Nivea.
A girl can’t travel without her luxury essentials, so as well as the Flushed palette, I also take the Clarins Instant Light pen – a more lightweight, natural option than the Touche Eclat (full review here) as well as the Beauty Flash Balm, also from Clarins – to apply before the No Foundation .. erm….foundation, and the ultra moisturising Clarins Joli Rouge – for a touch of colour to add some glamour when stepping off the plane! (Review of Joli Rouge lipstick here)
If there was one product that I would never travel without, I would have to choose the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. With my skin dried out from the plane, the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm acts to brighten, tighten and moisturise intensely, and makeup can be applied straight away to complete the fresh, radiant complexion.
So there you have it – my Carry-On essentials for a Summer Break – I’d love to know what products you always stash in your hand luggage, what do you recommend?
