We all have those items in our wardrobes that just seem to go with everything. They make you feel good, look great, and as an added bonus, are super comfortable. For me, it’s a pair of black skinny jeans. My favourite pair is a high-waisted pair from New Look. They didn’t break the bank, fit perfectly, and are high waisted which I love at this time of year as it’s ideal for layering and tucking in my trusty thermal top! (Ask anyone who knows me well, I wear a thermal top under EVERYTHING in Winter!)
To celebrate my love for said pair of black skinnies, I thought I would do a mini series; 3 Ways to Wear, and kick it off with these New Look jeans. I’ll be posting a new look every Tuesday for the next 3 weeks to show you different ways that I style this wardrobe staple.
This is my most relaxed, casual way to wear the jeans. I love layering and seem to have collected lots of neutral layers in my winter wardrobe recently. So for this comfortable yet still chic look, I’ve teamed the jeans with a slouchy, lightweight high neck jumper from . It’s a ‘waffle’ knit and I just love the way it hangs. With the jeans being high waisted, you can get away with any length jumper, so even if this rides up, you won’t catch a glimpse of my sexy thermal!
To accessorise, I’ve chosen a grey and gold-tone bag from New Look. It is big enough to stash away all of my essentials and the gold detail adds another texture to this look. The handles are big enough to sling over your shoulder, and there’s a longer strap tucked away inside too.
As usual, I’m wearing my ‘Classy’ Daniel Wellington watch and a ring from and I’ve also added a Mohair scarf from Whistles which I picked up in the sale recently (It’s now majorly reduced on ASOS !). I have pretty much worn it every day since I got it, it’s so snuggly and warm, I wrap it around my whole face (no exaggeration here) so I don’t have to breathe too much cold air!
Oh and my new favourite footwear, my beloved Russell & Bromley / Stuart Weitzman boots! I love them SO much. It makes my eyes water thinking about how much they were, but they were a Christmas present, from me, to me. Aren’t those the best kind of presents?!
Another accessory which I’ve been wearing non stop is this hat from Pom Pom Poodle. With a real fur, detachable pom pom and super soft luxury knit, the silk and cashmere blend is incredibly soft and warm. I chose the Maddie style which is available in 5 chic colour options.
