This Week I’ve Been… #14

Two very dramatic things happened this week – firstly, Summer arrived!! Or at least it felt like it. Our first ‘properly’ hot day meant that the legs were out, skirts and sandals on, and the fake tan was brought out from the back of my beauty cupboard! Secondly, I confessed that I’m giving up beauty blogging because I never want to try another cleanser again after using Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish! Well, I know I’m a drama queen but I really do love it, and it will be a while before I even test out anything else! But sun & skincare aside it’s been a fabulous week with lots going on, so without any more rambling…

This Week I’ve Been…

… Mixing cocktails at DSTRKT with Lipstick Boutique. The brand has just launched a new range with the gorgeous Jess Wright (from T.O.W.I.E) and they invited a few bloggers to DSTRKT to learn how to mix up some scrumptious cocktails. We all chose a dress from Jess’s gorgeous collection (see the full collection here) and then the challenge was on as to who could make the yummiest cocktail. Jess was a natural, whipping up a scrumptious Espresso Martini, while my Berry Mojito was also surprisingly good!

… Finishing the Neutrogena 10 Day Challenge. I mentioned in last week’s post that I’d been to a Neutrogena Press Event where they launched their new Visibly Renew range and challenged us to use it every day for 10 days and note the difference. I always try out these challenges and sometimes I don’t really  notice much of a difference, but wow. Not this time! After just four days my skin felt moisturised for much longer, and now on day 10 my skin looks and feels fresh and moisturised literally all day – no more dry patches on my shins (this used to be a big problem for me) and even my thighs and bum look more toned (I’ve been gyming too, so this helps!) and skin looks and feels smoother. I can highly recommend this range – its super!! Available now from Superdrug.

… Jumping on the Snapchat bandwagon. The other bloggers at the Lipstick Boutique event were all busy sharing the event over on their snapchat channels, and they eventually persuaded me that I just had to get it, so I caved! I downloaded it and yep, now addicted. So if you want to see what fun things I get up to on a daily basis, as well as outfit snapshots, and little clips of me unboxing new beauty launches, then add me by my username: JosieLDN.

… Enjoying a delicious meal at The Woodstock. Hayley (Frock Me I’m Famous), Sabrina (A Little Obsessed) and Vicky (The Lust List) and I all got together on Wednesday to catch up over cocktails and delicious Japanese style dishes at The Woodstock – perfectly located just off Bond Street, it’s such a hidden gem if you want to sit down in a relaxed atmosphere (it looks like an English Pub from the outside!) and enjoy gorgeous refreshing cocktails and small but incredibly tasty snacks. We enjoyed Chicken Kushi Yake (kind of like Chicken Satay, but better!) Pork Belly, Crispy Calamari, and King Prawns – i’ll definitely be back here again and highly recommend you check it out if you’re looking for some incredibly delicious food that’s not too heavy after a day’s shopping!

... To more press days! It’s that time of year when all the Press Days take place in London, and this week I managed to squeeze in a couple more. The TCS press day, as predicted, was a fabulous affair, in One Marylebone the grand building was taken over by brands such as Swarovski, Net-a-Porter, Diptyque and Liz Earle – I was in heaven. The Lulu Guinness press day was equally as magical – up in the spa area of The Sanderson hotel, the new collection featured some classic Lulu style pieces with some new shades for Autumn Winter, such as my favourite deep oxblood berry colour.
