Discovering Charlotte Tilbury

This post has been in my drafts a while now, and I feel like I have well and truly unearthed, discovered, and fallen in love with Charlotte Tilbury by now! Every item I’ve tried I’ve been really impressed by. The ? My favourite EVER. The ? LOVE. The ? Just wow. Yep, you get where I’m going with this! I first sat up and took notice of Charlotte Tilbury during Fashion Week (yes, late to the party) when one of the girls at the Selfridges counter gave me the BEST smokey eye I’d ever had, and since then I love nothing more than perusing the stunning gold packaging and deciding which of the fabulous products to splurge on next.

Look at how pristine and unused it is! Oh how you’d barely recognise it if you saw it now! The  quickly became my most used lipstick for Spring soon after I tried it, and I’m pretty sure it will remain my number one corally pink lipstick throughout the warmer months. Packaging aside (you can only imagine how obsessed I am with the fluted gold bullet!) this lipstick is gorgeous. The formula is creamy and soft to apply, and lasts a super long time without drying out the lips. I do find I have to apply a balm first and let that soak in in order to get the most out of this lipstick.

The need no introduction, I wear them by themselves or before applying lipstick, and the colours are the most sophisticated, flawless shades I’ve ever come across. You know that feeling when you don’t know you NEED something, until you try it? Then nothing else ever compares and you find yourself in a spiral of never being able to look at your other lip liners in the same way again? That’s me right now after trying the Lip Cheat pencils!
The  are something which you need to see to believe – I didn’t think I needed one but that was before I became hooked on the gorgeous healthy pop of colour that it gives cheeks and lips – and ooh how I love a multi tasker! It’s the first lip and cheek product which I genuinely love to use on both, so many are a good lip product but don’t sit well on the cheeks, where as the Beach Stick blends easily and gives a soft focus to complexion.

Usually, luxe makeup brands have a certain product category that they excel in, and they are just pretty good in others. Charlotte Tilbury isn’t like that. I’m yet to try the bases and skincare but I can confirm that the eye products are also bloody brilliant. The is the product that made me fall in love with the Charlotte Tilbury brand in the first place – the one product wonder that allows you to build an intense yet wearable smokey eye with luxurious definition. The shades are all silky smooth to apply and all build up and blend easily so you can really experiment and create an eye look that’s perfect for you.
One which really surprised me is the liner in ‘nude’ – for applying to the waterline. I never really think these liners work, perhaps I have majorly watery eyes but I just find that the next time I look in the mirror it’s gone. Once again though, the Charlotte Tilbury product came out trumps and proved me wrong. The pencil has an almost liquid feel, it smooths on incredibly easily and the nude, not white hue is extremely flattering while still looking natural. I’m not 100% sure it lives up to the claims of lasting for 14 hours, but it by far out-lasts all of my other waterline pencils and gives a much more natural finish, so for that, Charlotte Tilbury, I am thankful.
Another Rock n Kohl that I’ve been loving is the Barbarella Brown shade – with the same gorgeously soft almost liquid texture, it doesn’t drag the eyelids when you apply, and blends out perfectly to create a sultry smoky eye look. I find this to be the most long lasting of all my pencil liners, with absolutely no need to touch up during the day or night – even after a gym session!
So it’s become apparent that I don’t have a negative word to say about Charlotte Tilbury, and so far I love everything! The shades, the formulas, the packaging, they just tick all the boxes! I featured a couple of the products in my April favourites video so have a look at that if you want to see what they look like on my face!
