Spring style is my absolute favourite…
… utterly feminine, romantic silhouettes and ladylike fabrics. After months of being bundled up in winter layers and enduring a wardrobe of neutrals and darker shades, I am absolutely ready to embrace all the perfect pastel shades and ruffle and lace details that the Spring trends are bringing. One trend which I was a little phobic of originally was the return of the dungarees. For fear of looking like an over-dressed city farmer wannabe, I originally avoided the trend at all costs. However, after spotting the style on a few of my favourite street style instagram accounts, I decided to give it a go. I spotted this set from Dorothy Perkins, and at such an affordable price (under £30!!) it seemed to be the perfect opportunity to try the trend.
The floral design instantly gives your #ootd spring trend points, while the light material is flattering and comfortable to wear, far better than the thick denim styles that I’d previously avoided! I decided to pair with one of my pink off-the-shoulder tops – for a little bit more warmth, and to add another trend into the look. The flute sleeve and bardot neckline are yet again ticking off even more spring trends!
While dungarees can be a little unflattering on shorter types like myself, I found that by wearing with some chunky statement heels, I could give myself a height boost but without compromising on comfort and the ability to walk easily all day.
The lightweight materials and pastel colour palette give a fresh twist to the dungaree trend, and it’s one that I am so glad I tried – I’m now totally addicted!
