Confession : I’ve been dressing for Spring since January.
As soon as Christmas is over and done with, I’m officially looking forward to Spring, and even though we are still a few days away from the ‘official’ start to the season, we are seeing the highstreet and those fashion bloggers on our instagram already flaunting the best Spring Trends.
I’m always finding ways of working the key trends for the season into my existing wardrobe, and have developed a few fail-safe techniques to ensure I’m ahead of the trends, but still dressing weather appropriately too. Now you’re probably thinking ‘uhhh this outfit is not very practical is it now?!’ of the outfit in these pictures; but aside from it being literally my fave outfit in the world right now, it nicely demonstrates my first point; great knitwear is ESSENTIAL.
Knitwear really is a fabulous starting block when it comes to putting together on-trend outfits for Spring. While these may not be the warmest with the sheer fabric and low v-neck, it has the power to totally transform an outfit. For casual outings, I pair with white or pastel coloured jeans and a light coloured coat over the top, or to dress it up, as I have done here, it works fabulously with high waisted skirts or perhaps a pair of smart trousers.

As well as knitwear, there are many other ways to inject some key Spring pieces into your wardrobe, despite the chilly temperatures. I don’t know about you but I’m so excited to start wearing my floral dresses and the way to make them wearable now is the throw on either some trainers for a very casual look, or some white pointed toe boots to keep your feet warm, and keep the dress looking elegant. Don’t be afraid to wear tights either – patterned hosiery is very much on trend this season. Throw a suede jacket or belted trench on over the top and you’re good to go!
Don’t forget; pastels and especially pale pink, violet and mauve are huge right now; so go head to toe and finish with a textured coat for some serious warmth, but perfect trend points too. If you’re not quite brave enough for head to toe pastels, opt for some light denim, a neutral #oord and a pastel coloured coat to finish.
What are your favourite ways to wear pastel trends while it’s still chilly?
xoxo
