Discovering Ibiza Old Town

Ibiza Old Town

On our third day in Ibiza, we set off from Santa Eulalia early in the morning, and took the scenic route toward Ibiza Old Town. If you’re driving, I’d recommend making your way there early; firstly so that you can explore before it gets too hot, and secondly so that there are plenty of parking spaces! We lucked out by finding a car park right by the entrance to the walled part of Ibiza Old Town, and we settled into an adorable cafe called Cafe Rico for a cappuccino while we made our plans for the rest of the morning.

Ibiza Old Town is a walled city, with many historic and beautiful buildings. Even in the peak of summer, the height of the buildings creates shaded streets, so it’s comfortable and pleasant to walk around, and almost every building is covered in beautiful flowers and has a terribly instagrammable door or facade – yes, I was in heaven!

We meandered through the beautiful streets, eventually finding ourselves at a spectacular lookout point, where we could see the port and the bay, bustling with activity. After taking in the views, we made our way toward the Plaza de España, where we discovered a selection of lovely shops and restaurants, including the Loewe x Paula’s Boutique pop up, and a wonderful millinery store where mum and I both purchased straw visors! We stopped by at another cafe to rehydrate after a morning of exploring, and decided it was time to hit the beach!

Beach Babylon

After a morning exploring the old town, we decided to chill out, enjoy a relaxed afternoon by the sea – and I’d stumbled upon a place called Beach Babylon during my Instagram research, so we made a beeline there. It was very close to our hotel, so we decided to spend the rest of the day there. It cost €35 each, which again we could put toward our food, and let me tell you – the coffee ice creams were divine, as was their lunch selection! Mum opted for a healthy salad while I chose a Chicken waffle – oh it was scrumptious! There was also a vegan mac n cheese on the menu – which i”ll definitely be trying out next time!
