Another super hectic day of meetings, shows and seriously naughty food. After breakfast and a meeting with Marie Claire, we headed to the Lincoln Centre where most of the New York Fashion Week shows are happening, to make the most of our backstage passes. In the tent not only can you get blow drys and manicures, but there are also re-charge stations allowing you to catch up with work while overlooking the E! team filming their latest NYFW segments.
Shows today included the stunning Georgine show – makeup consisted of dewy skin and metallic lids to match the metallic designs of the glamorous swimwear collection.
High-waisted shorts, metallic chevron prints, and full-length kaftans are sure to be the trends to be seen in on the beach for SS15. Turbans were a recurring theme too in addition to the soft ruffles and lace inspired by St.Tropez in the 70s. All garments aside from the retro-esque swimwear was flowing and created a billowing silhouette – a hint to the free-flowing 70s inspiration behind the runway collection.
After the show Olya and I were approached by a TV crew to comment on the shows, but after we were asked how we liked the ‘Michael Hairchest’ collection we suspected something wasn’t right – it turns out they were trying to ‘punk’ us and were in fact filming a comedy segment for the Jimmy Fallon show!
Trust me to find a cute pooch amongst the madness!
What better way to reward myself for a hard day of shows and meetings than a little trip to 5th Avenue and trying to hunt down Chuck Bass at the Empire hotel…
