Mani Monday // Essie Spring Favourites

This weekend really felt like Spring had finally arrived, and to celebrate, I lined up all my favourite pastel coloured nail polishes to take stock, before choosing on my shade du jour. One colour drew my eye, a faint pastel blue; Essie’s Borrowed or Blue.

My favourite Sunday evening activity is getting into bed ridiculously early (we’re talking 8pm here) still full from the Sunday Roast, sticking on a great film and painting my nails. If there’s a face mask involved then that’s a bonus! So this week I began with my usual Essie Base Coat Strong As Nails after filing and clipping with the Tweezerman Nail Clippers (their tools are so handy, I can’t remember what I did before them!). I chose Borrowed & Blue as I wanted to move away from my usual pink nail Menu, and wear something a little more fresh for the first proper week of spring. The first coat as I often find it is with Essie was kinda streaky, but the second coat gave me a smooth glossy finish. My final step is the Revlon ColourStay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat which I find gives my nails a few more days of chip free perfection, as well as a brilliant shine!
