I am so ready for this long weekend! With lots of things going on with both work and the blog, I feel like four days to get caught up is exactly what I need right now! This week has seen some foodie delights as well as far too much shopping!
… Creating Easter Eggs at the Cafe Hotel Royal. This week I was invited into the Chocolate Room at the Hotel Cafe Royal to see how the master chocolatiers make the fabulous eggs which are on sale at Easter time. My chocolatey experience started with a cocktail made with Vodka infused chocolate over Raspberry foam which I splurged like a content child while watching chef Andy explain the craftsmanship that goes into every egg. Next it was my turn, starting by polishing the moulds to get that glossy shine, before painting a design onto the plastic and then pouring in Andy’s very own melted chocolate. After the chocolate cooled, we filled the shells with sweets before setting the two halves together. The hotel are selling the eggs (made my Andy and the team, not me thankfully!) for just £7 and 5 eggs contain Golden Tickets so you can win a Chocolate Masterclass!
… Discovering Denim at Miss Selfridge. The store invited bloggers to a this week and I picked up another pair of their Lizzie jeans ( I love them so much!) as well as some items to dress them up with. I’ll be shooting some outfit posts with the pieces soon and I can’t wait to share the looks!
… Jetting off with Garnier. As far as press launches go, the Garnier event this week was one of the most spectacular I’d ever seen! Converting the Vinyl Factory into a departure lounge, guests entered through the security point before being lead through departures which of course contained all of Garnier’s Summer Holiday essentials. Keep a look out for my upcoming posts about some of the products!
… Hosting a FashTech evening with ASOS. Every few months with work we put on FashTech events, and this week we hosted our latest events with ASOS. Guests listened to presentations about the future of Ecommerce and Visual Search while enjoying a glass of wine and ASOS branded mini eggs!
… Catching up with friends over Thai Food. The Pepper Tree in Clapham is somewhere I’d walked past hundreds of times but never tried, so when a friend suggested it I jumped at the change. The portions were small but delicious and they have an offer where you can eat and get a cinema ticket at the nearby Clapham Picture House for just £13.95 – what a bargain!
… Experiencing Cardio for my face at Face Gym with Clinique. Up in the Personal Shopping area of Selfridges, Clinique and Face Gym are offering a facial / workout for your face to not only clarify skin, but use exercises to build muscle (meaning less wrinkles, yay!). The therapist used various techniques to ‘workout’ my facial muscles after thoroughly cleansing using the Clinique 3 Step Routine and their facial cleansing brush.
