You know when you just really want to tell the world about something really exciting that you’ve been working on… but just gotta keep it quiet a little bit longer?! That’s been my struggle pretty much this whole week. All will be revealed tomorrow though so keep a look out on my blog at about 12 midday for something hugely exciting! Other than keeping my lips sealed this week, there’s been lots of fabulous events as well as some lovely pampering…
This Week I’ve Been…
… Discovering the new Antipodes Worship Serum at The Berkeley. Yep – my favourite place in the world for Afternoon Tea ( I blogged about it ages ago here) was the location for the Antipodes Beauty blogger meet-up, so you can imagine how it took me a grand total of 5 seconds to clear my schedule and confirm my attendance! The gorgeous founder of Antipodes, Elizabeth was over in the UK to tell us all about Worship – a new antioxidant serum which protects skin agains free radical damage using the antioxidant potency of a New Zealand-grown super fruit complex. Using natural extraction processes, the ingredients including boysenberry, blackcurrant and kiwifruit give your skin an organic daily boost as well as protecting against early ageing. The tea itself was a fabulous affair; The Berkeley’s Pret-a-Portea is known for creating incredible miniature creations of catwalk trends, we enjoyed the Moschino handbag as a mini Victoria sponge, Jimmy Choo clutch Macarons and Alexander McQueen heel biscuits! Fabulous!
… Working out with #MatalanActive. I’ve been pretty good at gyming recently, as well as my weekly trips to Psycle and have been loving treating myself to new exercise clothing as a reward / motivation! I was so surprised to see that Matalan have a fabulous range of activewear, including yoga, running and gym ranges. My panelled leggings in the picture above are so flattering and… wait for it…. £12!! The sports bra is a gorgeous graphic print and is just £8. The whole range can be bought online and I keep checking back regularly as they release lovely new pieces – if you’re after some new gym kit but don’t want to spend a fortune then you absolutely must check it out!
… Enjoying the Red Carpet treatment with House of Fraser for the BAFTAs. I was invited by Carat London to join House of Fraser (who are sponsoring the BAFTAs) at the Corinthia hotel to enjoy a day of pampering, just like the stars would enjoy before the BAFTAs. This included a MAC makeover, St Tropez spray tan, hair makeover from Mark Hill and getting bejewelled by Carat London. The final step was to choose a dress from House of Fraser’s extensive range, and pose for some red-carpet worthy photos.
… Blow dried to perfection at Daniel Galvin! The fabulous Cheryl Munoz invited me to come in for a Blow Dry at the Daniel Galvin Hair Salon in Marylebone – one of the most fabulous salon’s i’ve ever stepped foot in! From the warm towels that they wrap you in before your hair wash, to the freshly prepared smoothies from Roots & Bulbs, this is a salon experience like no other. Using Shu Uemura products, Cheryl listened carefully to my hair preferences and recommended a few styles, before we decided on the chic and understated natural style blow dry – you know the one, where your hair just perfectly frames your face, making it look as though you’ve spent hundreds of pounds on an expensive cut and colour when really its just a 40 minute fabulous blow dry! Book your treatment online here.
… Partying away with my #bblogger pals at lots of beauty events! This week was a week of cocktails, canapés and cupcakes as almost every evening saw at least one event! Starting with a braid at the new Hersherson’s braid bar at Topshop Oxford Circus and then the World Duty Free event on Tuesday, there was also an exciting new launch in Space NK (check my Instagram for details!) and a LUSH store opening and Rodial Cocktail party at the Ham Yard Hotel on Thursday to launch their new Dragon’s Blood XXL serum. If you want to keep up with all the fun events I’m at then be sure to add me on Snapchat! Username is JosieLDN.
