What’s In My Makeup Bag for Christmas?
I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but things have been a little hectic around these parts over the past few weeks. This time of year seems to be not only the time for a hectic social calendar with festive gatherings and Christmas shopping for loved ones, but also the busiest time of year within the working calendar too. So today, I thought I would keep things simple and share with you a classic blog post – What’s In My Makeup Bag.
During this time of the year, I stick to products that I know well, and trust. I also however like to ensure that there’s a little bit of luxury within my beauty routine – but products need to be simple, functional and reliable. The last thing I need to worry about is a beauty meltdown over the festive period!
As I hop from my house, to the homes of family and friends where I’ll be staying and spending time over the festive period, my makeup bag has to be full of products that I know and love. Products that have been part of my routine for a while now – so I know that there won’t be any surprises when I look in the mirror! The base I have been loving recently is the Georgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, and although it’s bulky glass container means it doesn’t fit inside my makeup bag, I’ll be making an exception and ensuring it’s packed in my weekend bag for a flawless glowing base throughout the festive party season. To keep it in place, Caudalie’s face mist is a luxurious and refreshing step in my complexion building routine – not only does it add moisture, but also locks your base in place so that you don’t have to worry about the coverage sliding away as the day turns into night.

I maximise that festive glow with my Hourglass bronzer, applying in the hollows of my cheeks and along the hairline to bring shade and contour to my face, and then dusting what’s left on the brush over the rest of my face to give a little more warmth to my complexion.
The final step for glowing skin is highlight, and the Charlotte Tilbury Golden Shimmer gives me just the right amount of sparkle when the light catches. I take a selection of lipsticks – I never can decide which shade to go for until the very last minute, but I know that one of my Tom Ford or BareMinerals lipsticks will work no matter what the occasion. I finish the lips with a touch of Lipcote, which I rediscovered recently thanks to finding it in my Glossybox – it truly does keep my lipstick intact no matter how often I find myself under the mistletoe!
There’s no such thing as too much sparkle for a festive look, so I’ve packed my shimmering metallic eye creams and palettes; including a sparkling quad from BareMinerals and my Clarins cream shadows – both of which are intensely pigmented and long lasting, for a bold and shimmering makeup look.
All the best Christmas party outfits are those that show just a little bit of skin, so I like to make sure my legs are perfectly prepped – despite them being bundled up in tights and leggings from the chilly weather recently. Luckily theits built in shave gel bars featuring of the Venus & Olay razor save valuable minutes from my get ready routine and the added touch of skin-loving Olay moisture in the bars, this handyrazor means I am ready for every outfit within just a few moments. Silky smooth and perfectly moisturised legs are just as important as the rest of my beauty routine and with the Venus and Olay razor, I’m ready for anything as long as I keep it in my makeup bag throughout the party season.

The finishing touch is a spritz of my favourite scent, and I’ve recently fallen back in love with Flowerbomb – I wore it all throughout my late teens, and it’s musky floral scent has been the one I’ve been reaching for time and time again. I have a mini scented oil bottle which makes it the perfect size for slipping in my Makeup Bag.
