Think you can’t wear white jeans? Think again!
White jeans are officially back in style this Spring, and I’m just going to say it loud and proud – I absolutely LOVE them. Now, I know that to some this is an unpopular opinion, they’ve been tainted with the brush of being ‘unflattering’ and ‘hard to style’ but, I find that when paired with the perfect items, they can look effortlessly cool. Yes, they get dirty easily but actually on the plus side, they are really great motivators to make you stop unconsciously touching your face (you’ll soon know you’re doing it when you spot foundation finger marks on your crisp white pair!) – yes I’m clutching at straws here but there *is* a plus side to the fact that they get dirty, honestly!
Anyway, for me White Jeans are a fabulous transition piece. When it’s just a touch too cool to bare your legs (or perhaps you just haven’t fake tanned yet!) they add a light touch to your outfit and look seriously beautiful with just so many colour options. As well as pink (of course..) I love pairing white jeans with blue tops, so in today’s post I’ve styled up two shades of blue to go with my new favourite pair of white jeans.
The jeans in question are from Coast. Not typically somewhere that was front of mind for jeans previously, but boy oh boy am I now converted! These beauties are not only affordable at under £100, (RRP £79) but they are quite literally the most comfortable pair of jeans I have ever worn. The elasticity and soft material feels as comfy as leggings, and also gives a flattering fit. They’re finished beautifully with gold detailing, and I’ve worn them non-stop for over a week and they show no sighs of loosing their fit.
As for the first top, I chose to style them in the daytime with this gorgeous bow detailed stripe blouse also from Coast. The more casual Friday collection from the brand is fabulous for those who wish to elevate their everyday outfits into something just a touch more special – and I for one, am a big fan of this. I’d previously stayed away from the shirting material trend, worried it was a little too masculine for me, but this top ticks off that trend while adding a feminine touch with the bow, which also creates a flattering silhouette as you tie it around the waist.
I opted for something out of my comfort zone for my evening look with the white jeans. As a fan of pale and neutral colours, this navy one shoulder top is really a ‘dramatic’ choice for me. I know, I know – I really need to get out more. But upon trying it on – attracted like a magpie to the dramatic ruffle neckline – I realised I’d been missing out. I love this shade, and with white jeans, it’s an absolute winner. The contrast of colours makes this look a more standout #ootd, while the denim effect material of the top keeps it casual. It’s the ultimate versatile piece – I paired with my Nicholas Kirkwood flats earlier in the day, and then added glamour to the look with heeled Valentino rock studs – it seems that no matter the style, shade or heel height, they look great with white jeans.
All three pieces within this outfit post are from the Coast Friday collection; a real standout collection from the brand we know and love when it comes to elegant and fabulous occasion wear. Each time I try a new piece from Coast, it takes me by surprise and I love it more than I ever thought I would. As you may be able to tell, I am a great fan of this new diffusion line from the brand, and I can’t wait to style up more pieces from the collection.
