An Evening with Grey Goose : Pour L’Amour du Chocolat

An Elevated Experience…

One of the fabulous perks of my role as a Grey Goose brand storyteller, is the opportunity to spend many an evening with the brand, discovering even more about the elegant vodka, and the wonderful ways it can work within cocktails and with a variety of food pairings. The most recent of such events was at Kensington Roof Gardens, for a Cinema in the Sky evening and a private screening of Chocolat. The pairing that we would explore that evening? Well, Grey Goose vodka and chocolate of course!

The evening began with an introductory glass of Le Fizz, the signature ( and possibly my favourite ) Grey Goose cocktail served in tall champagne glasses, in the same way that the Hollywood stars would enjoy a Le Grand Fizz ahead of the screenings at Cannes Film Festival. Alongside the cocktail, we were able to enjoy bite size chocolate treats, created especially by Chocolatier Paul A Young right in front of our eyes. Young’s perfectionist touch and bespoke approach to creating chocolates in many ways reminded me of the passion and perfectionism of Francois Thibault – cellar master of Grey Goose.

Grey Goose Café Gourmand

If there was one cocktail that I never imagined could be improved, it would be the Grey Goose Espresso Martini. The new Café Gourmand however is an expression of the quintessentially French ritual of serving small patisserie treats alongside a quality espresso as the way to end your dining experience but not your evening; the Espresso Martini made with Grey Goose vodka, single origin finest quality espresso, premium coffee liqueur and a pinch of salt, garnished with three coffee beans is served with a selection of four mini patisserie style deserts – could a cocktail be any more perfect?! As much as I adore a fantastic Panacotta, Creme Brûlée or Cheesecake, I often find that after a scumptious and satisfying starter and main course I’m craving something a little lighter and yet equally as delicious. The idea of an Espresso Martini and small patisserie treats as the third and final course of a meal is definitely one I’ll be recreating at home and at dinner parties, carefully choosing the miniature deserts to compliment the tastes from the meal and indeed the Grey Goose cocktail! We enjoyed the Café Gourmand as we made our way into the elevated cinema area at the Roof Gardens, choosing from four taste variations of the Espresso Martini, and enjoying chocolate treats as we settled in and waited for the film to begin. The movie of choice for the evening? Well, Chocolat of course!
