Visiting Vermont during the fall foliage season has been on my wishlist for many years. The New England region is famed for the golden coverage from the leaves as they change colour and finally fall to the ground creating a golden carpet – and it really is as magical as it sounds. We decided to spend two days in Woodstock following our trip to Boston, and just caught the end of the fall foliage season. The town of Woodstock was full of old school charm (read about our time in Woodstock here) and we spent a full day just walking through the streets, down walkways by the river, and across bridges exploring and taking in the beautiful scenery.
It was unseasonably mild which gave me the opportunity to layer up but not have to worry about a bulky coat (we’ve got plenty of time for those in Winter!) so I opted for a cashmere jumper (my ASOS one which I have worn so much lately!) with a gilet for added cosiness. For a day of walking, practical boots were a must, so I chose my from their new Autumn Winter collection – a stylish and yet robust option for a day of long walks.
As well as looking great and perfectly completing my outfit for the day, the boots are ideal for a full day of walking. The waterproof suede means no need to worry about where you step, (and makes them a lot easier to clean too!) and you don’t have to be too delicate with them – these boots are made for walking after all! While the cushioned footbed makes them incredibly comfortable despite hours of wear even on their first outing.

Each house on every street was decorated with a perfectly crafted Autumnal porch – local residents make the most of local product and create tasteful clusters of pumpkins and gourds to decorate the entrances to their homes – I came away with a camera roll full of pretty front doors!
