Wilderness Festival

Wilderness is a huge music festival which is held at Cornbury Park every Summer. This year, the festival will be held on 1st-4th August, and tickets are still available. There are many ticket types to choose from; you can book to camp in your own tent, bring a campervan, or if you like the idea of everything being set up for you, you can book one of the bell tents or cabins which come with the use of more luxurious loo and shower facilities. There is also the option of a non-camping ticket which is the option we’d recommend, as this means you have day-access to all four incredible days of Wilderness, but get to escape to your home (if you’re local), or a lovely hotel or airbnb (such as Strawtop Cottage) to sleep and then get ready each morning in peace!

In terms of the acts at Wilderness this year, the musical headliners are Michael Kiwanuka, Faithless, BICEP present CHROMA & Jessie Ware! There are also performances from Bill Bailey, The Teskey Brothers and many more fabulous musicians. The festival isn’t only about the music however; there are also talks to attend and comedy acts to see, with performances from the likes of Claudia Winkleman, Joel Dommett and Rosie Jones. There are even wellness sessions such as Pilates, sound healing and an incredible sauna to relax in, which is perfect if you overdid it the night before. Wilderness Festival is a very family-friendly affair, with soft-play available, nannies on hand, and wonderful performances and shows for children.

Big Feastival

Big Feastival is an incredible food festival held on Alex James’ farm in Kingham each summer. The festival is taking place from 23rd-25th August this year, and you have the option of booking a day ticket, a camping ticket or a weekend ticket. We’d recommend going for the day, as we feel that a day is enough to try plenty of delicious dishes, and watch some amazing performances.

You can expect musical performances from Becky Hill, Snow Patrol, Ella Henderson and many more incredible artists. The performance that I’m most looking forward to is Ministry of Sound Classical, which involves popular club tunes being performed by an orchestra!! Apart from all of the fabulous music, a key part of Big Feastival is of course the celebration of all things food. There is a fantastic celebrity chef line-up including Raymond Blanc, Andy Oliver and Simon Rogan, who will all be cooking up a storm in The Big Kitchen. If you’re just going for the day, be sure to check which musicians and chefs are on each day, to make sure you don’t miss your favourites!

Big Feastival is also known for its incredible selection of street food stalls. From mac n cheese to tacos, from paella to churros, Big Feastival are guaranteed to have anything and everything you fancy.

Soul Circus

If you’re looking for something a bit different to your typical music festival, Soul Circus may be the festival for you. With a tag-line like ‘escape to the circus where wellbeing meets music’, you can expect a combination of lively DJ sets, yoga sessions, holistic therapies, spa treatments and circus performances.

A typical day at Soul Circus could involve waking up bright and early to head to a group yoga class, followed by an al fresco breakfast obtained from one of the many delicious street food stalls. You could then choose to attend an aerial skills workshop or even a lucid dreaming seminar in the early afternoon, followed by a lazy hour or two spent in an outdoor jacuzzi and sauna with friends. Once you’ve dried off and got yourself ready for a fabulous evening, grab an ice-cold cocktail from one of the many onsite bars, and head over to your music stage of choice to dance the night away. If you get peckish, stop by a burger stall for dinner before retiring to a lovely bell tent for the night!
