Double Denim - Fashion Mumblr

I have a confession to make.

At twenty three years old, it surprises even myself, that this is the first time I’ve worn double denim. Like, ever. Yes, I said it! Somehow – and I’m not too sure how – I have manage to dodge the recurring trend of double denim time after time. I own jeans a-plenty, and a denim blouse or two, but it’s safe to say that I’ve never mixed the two together.

My new denim duo are both by American Eagle Outfitters, and they’ve quickly become amongst my ‘most-worn’ pieces. The slim-fitting cut of the jeans, the stretchy, breathable fabric and the way they flawlessly mould themselves to my legs makes me want to wear them every second of every day. In fact, I possibly may find myself wanting to sleep in them, too far? And because of this denim addiction, this denim boyfriend blouse takes the jeans from day to night – equally as soft and dreamy to wear, but with a cool almost *dare I say it* East London vibe that I immediately toned down with a bold red lip.

Finding the perfect fit isn’t easy. Especially when you’re on the ‘shorter’ side of the 5″ scale. These jeans crop at the perfect ankle length *yay for us shorties!* and the deep indigo shade is undeniably flattering, on leg length, tone, and (dare I say it?!) the boo-tay. My new American Eagle beauts are embellished with the brand’s logo and perfectly positioned back pockets to flatter your bum, and they are blessed with the perfect skinny-stretch legging feel that hugs your legs in a way that they’re begging to be hugged.

I’m a big fan of denim that doesn’t stretch or fade after just one wear, and so I’m pleased to report back that my AEO denim embodies the perfect wash and wear scenario. Let’s take a moment to appreciate the other wonders of this #ootd. Double denim means that there are no rules when it comes to accessorising, so I grabbed my nearest and dearest, and headed out the door. My brown leather feather-emblazoned bag is a recent addition from Zara – a classic style with a little bit of that ‘western’ feel to it which perfectly suits my denim vibes. As for the Charlotte Olympia flats (you spotted them, didn’t you!) well, I mean what can I say. They up-the-antê of any outfit, stealing the show. They were a sample sale steal (£50 I’ll have you know!) that rarely make it out of the house (hello! Velvet!) but when they do, all eyes are on them.
