Skin Care Saviours

It’s this time of year that I feel like my skin needs a do-over, and that means lots of pamper evenings, bubble baths, face masks and serious skin nourishment.
With London Fashion Week drawing to an end my dull skin definitely is in need of some TLC, and here are the products i’ll be reaching for.

Firstly, the Microderma Scrub and Masque from One Love Organics – a DIY treat for dull skin. For a luxurious tightening masque you can mix 1 tsp of the scrub with 2 tsp of water, or for an even more pampering treat do as I do, and mix 2 tsps of plain Greek yogurt and leave on for 10-15 mins before rinsing with warm water.
Also from One Love Organics, the Easy Does It foaming cleanser is a great natural alternative to the high street cleansers pumped with chemicals – this cleanser is made from a unique combination of Chilean soap bark, cold-pressed apple oil and vegetable glycerin.

A product which I purchased after reading reviews on several beauty blogs is the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. The primer had been hailed as the budget equivalent to the Benefit’s Porefessional and I couldn’t wait to try it out myself.
The formula is like a silicone gel, and you can apply before or after makeup. I apply it after my moisturiser and allow it to settle (while I put the kettle on!) before applying foundation. It smooths the surface of the skin and makes foundation look more flawless upon application.
I have found that my makeup has been lasting longer since I started using this product, with less need to touch up at lunch time, however I have also recently switched to Nars powder, so I can’t be sure if that is down to the Baby Skin alone.
At just £7.99 from boots, it’s definitely worth a try!

The Darphin Mild Aroma Peeling For Face mask has been hailed as the sensitive skin equivalent to Origin’s Clear Improvements Face Mask (which I love!) so I was excited to see for myself. The satiny formula is a real treat to apply, I love to leave it on while in the bath before gently rubbing off using circular movements – it’s like a cleanser and mask in one! My skin is always radiant following this mask, so it’s a great treat if you have an important occasion that you want to be glowing for!
I’d been on the hunt for a great night cream recently, and I am so relieved to have finally found The One. Here’s what Origins say about their High Potency Night a Mins cream:
“Put dullness to rest. Wake up radiant & refreshed. Now nature’s famed night cream is newly fortified with a system of time-released resurfacers plus Vitamins C, E & H, minerals & moisture-rich replenishers. While relaxing aromas lull you to sleep, skin sloughs away dry, dead layers. Helps the appearance of dullness. 98% of those who tested it agreed – used regularly, skin was renewed and refreshed in the AM. Helps the slumber deprived wake up on the bright side of the bed. So why face dull skin. Sleep it off tonight.”
After cleansing in the evening, I apply this to my face and neck – it’s a thick, silky formula which I find sinks in very quickly compared to other night creams I have tried. As with all Origins products, I love the zesty scent and it delivers on its promises of bright, refreshed skin in the mornings. Origins Night a Mins – welcome to the daily routine!
