Today I am celebrating – if you will – my first swimsuit post on the blog. EEK!
Although posting photos of myself in a swimming costume isn’t the usual form of #ootd post, I thought that it was absolutely necessary to dedicate a post to a few of my favourite beach and poolside essentials, which, typically, I discover just as summer is well and truly over.
I’m talking of course about finally finding a swimming costume that I feel comfortable in, and discovering my inner poolside glamorous side thanks to a pair of seriously stylish and on trend sunglasses.
On the plus side, these new favourites most definitely give me motivation to book myself onto a Winter Sun break (or two!) just so that I can wear them again!
An Investment Piece
When it comes to investing in a swimsuit for the holiday season, it’s all about finding that classic piece that is absolutely beautiful, flattering, but of course, timeless. After discovering this beauty, I feel like I’m about to become one of those girls who likes to wear the same swimsuit from year to year – after all, I see it as an investment piece and it’s one that certainly won’t go out of style.
I discovered the brand Marysia on Instagram, of course, and after seeing the flattering one and two pieces cropping up on my feed all summer, I finally decided to invest in my own. I opted for a patterned little one-piece (and also a black bikini which you can see on my Instagram) and as soon as I tried it on, it truly captured my heart. What was this feeling?! I finally found a swimsuit that I actually felt good in.
I wore this style out for a boat trip exploring the greek riviera, feeling fabulous on the gorgeous private beaches we visited. Photogenically the pattern is beautiful, and the scallop details keep it on trend, and absolutely feminine.
So let’s discuss the price. It’s expensive, a lot more than I’d ever paid for a swimsuit. But as I start investing in other areas of my wardrobe I thought I’d order it, try it, and if I didn’t love it I could just send it back. Well, I did love it – I love how I look and feel in it, and that feeling of actually feeling good in a swimming costume is something that I can’t put a price on.
Accessories Worth Investing In
My second poolside investment this Summer was a pair of standout sunglasses. A designer pair which instantly elevated any look – whether that’s a swimsuit, evening dress, or simple t-shirt and jeans.
