Because why wait till December?!
The shops are already filling up with festive fashions; I’m talking sparkling embellishments, luxurious swathes of fabric, feathers, fringing and more – and I don’t know about you, but I’m desperate to start wearing it now.
Once Bonfire night is out of the way, the Christmas excitement truly begins, and I’m happy to take that as my green light to inject some festive fashion into my wardrobe. In today’s post, I’ve selected five festive outfits from Coast – who have us covered from casual day pieces right through to the most opulent gowns ahead of the party season.
My first outfit features this heavenly jumper. The Smyth Embellished Top was the piece I beelined for upon entering the Oxford Street store, having already added it to my wishlist after seeing it styled by Olivia Palermo for her collaboration with the brand. A jumper such as this is such a staple in a festive wardrobe; not only is it warm, comfortable and practical, but the sparkling embellishments make it the perfect piece to dress up a casual look such as the one I have styled here – but it could also be worn with smart trousers or even with a high waisted jacquard skirt perhaps, for an evening look.
I kept it simple with jeans and my favourite boots and bag – with a piece as special as this jumper, the rest of the look can be kept plain. It’s the easiest outfit ever!
My second festive look is not quite so subtle – but Christmas is all about extravagance, right?! I feel like royalty in this outfit – it’s beautifully elegant and oozes timeless glamour. It’s ladylike and demure, a perfect Christmas Day outfit, for those who love to dress up with family and friends.
I paired the Naomi Lee Knit Top from Coast with their beautiful Carmen Jacquard High Low Skirt – the fabric hangs with such elegance and the entire look is a festive dream. I couldn’t believe that this look could be created with pieces from the highstreet – the skirt is under £130, but looks as though the price tag could easily be ten times this amount.
I’ll be reserving this outfit for Christmas Eve, when we celebrate with dinner at an old historic hotel before heading out for a festive carol service. In the past I’ve often got a little chilly, but this outfit when paired with tights and even a vest top underneath the jumper, is warm and cosy without compromising on style.
Add a bit of Sparkle
If a full festive frock is not your style for Christmas day, then why not opt for an embellished jumper? When waltzing into the Coast store, I wasn’t expecting to find something as simple and chic as the Sparkle Sequin Knit Top. Still adding some festive sparkle to your look without going all out with voluminous skirts and diamante detail – it is a subtle nod to the festivities.
The soft grey material makes it a comfortable yet chic option for Christmas day, or any day throughout the party season. I’ll be wearing this for work, for post-work drinks, casual dinner dates and Christmas morning – who says you have to save your sparkle for Christmas day?!
As for styling, it couldn’t be easier. As it is a simple yet elegant grey jumper, it can be teamed with your favourite jeans and boots for a casual look, or worn with a high waisted skirt for something a little smarter. As for me, I layered it under my all time favourite Autumn coat, this fabulous Ostaria Camel Cape, also from Coast.
The cape is already my most worn piece of the entire season. I adore the way it ties in at the waist, accentuating the feminine figure, while the cape sleeves make it undeniably fashionable. The camel colour works with all my Autumnal #ootds, and at less than £200 it’s already proven a great investment for price-per-wear.
As outerwear is what is seen the most during the colder months, it’s so important to get a piece you love, and love is an understatement for how I feel in the cape!
Who could have guessed that a top and skirt could look this fabulous?
I truly can not believe that this outfit is from the highstreet. I feel like a million dollars in this embellished top and asymmetric skirt combination. Both from Coast, the pair create a timeless, classic and feminine look, and one that makes me look and feel fabulous.
The embellishment on the top make it sparkle for the festivities, while the matte fabric of the skirt is pleated on the waistband, creating fullness and a dramatic flare. The floral fabric cinches in at the waist, while the silky floral print catches the light, making it a beautiful piece to continue wearing in spring time too.
I’ll be wearing the sparkling top with jeans for more casual occasions, such as with white jeans, while a silk blouse could be paired with the skirt to make it work for other occasions too.
I saved the best til last!
Finding the perfect dress for Christmas is something that I often leave till last minute, but not this year. When I tried on the Rita Metallic Stripe Dress, it was instant attraction. The bodice fits like a dream, while the skirt creates a dramatic fully feminine silhouette.
Each of these looks makes me feel fabulous and festive, and Coast have every festive fashion wish granted this season; whether you feel more comfortable in a cosy knit, or a dramatic gown.
Which of these looks is your favourite?
Thank you to Coast for collaborating on this post!
