FALL FLORALS AND FAUX FUR
Here in London, Autumn has finally arrived! Not all of us dread the end of summer; especially since a change in season brings new trends and a reason to buy that new dress you’ve been after.
It’s no surprise that I love florals, whatever the season I always go back to the feminine pattern. So you can imagine I was thrilled to see that dark florals were going to be big for AW17. A floral print dress with deeper tones such as burgundy or maroon easily transitions a summery item into a bold fall look. Florals however are notoriously hard to wear but the key is to experiment with different styles and find what works best for you. Head to toe florals may not quite suit you but maybe a floral top broken up with a suede skirt will. Or perhaps just add a small dose to your wardrobe with some fall floral accessories. No matter what your style preference, there is a way to include them in any outfit.
I paired this floral dress with another trend which we saw on the catwalks for AW17; faux fur bags. The highstreet has picked this trend up and we are starting to see bags adorned with fur everywhere. I won’t pretend its not impractical as it does rain a lot in the UK and I wouldn’t want to deal with the soggy fur but just look at it. Not only are Dexter and Dickens able to snuggle up to it as a pillow but they are so soft, cosy and fun!
For a casual day look, show a little more skin whilst it is just about warm enough. This has been one of my most worn outfits of the transitional season. It’s just about the right length as it cuts off above the knee keeping it cute and girly whilst the ruffle high neck and long cuffs make it autumnal appropriate. Add a shade for an autumnal feel or perhaps to really have fun with it.
For any work meetings, opt for a floral dress in a to look appropriate whilst stylish at work or perhaps choose something with to take you from day to night. For a subtler way to incorporate the faux fur, opt for a in white and black to keep the look chic and polished.
To add a touch of luxe to my fall florals and faux fur, I’ve added my suedewhich I absolutely adore and are already proving to be great price per wear. They go with so many different outfits from dresses to jeans and the western feel they bring to the outfit really helps to keep the look more fall forward. If you aren’t too sure if you will get the wear out of them, why not experiment with a first and invest later.
Finally, I kept my jewellery simple with gold stud earrings and my usual rose gold bracelets and let my fall florals and faux fur do all the talking.
