Visiting Harvard University – Boston Outfit Diaries

“YOU? Got into Harvard Law School?”

“… What, like it’s hard?”

You can probably imagine the amount of Legally Blonde quotes I sang as we entered the beautiful Harvard University campus. Elle Woods was my childhood idol, the blonde sorority girl who stuns everyone when she shows that she is far more than a pretty face, and ends up top of her class at Harvard Law School – winning fierce legal battles and of course the man of her dreams. Knowing that Harvard University was just a fifteen minute drive from where we were staying in Boston, it was one of the first places we visited, and I wasn’t quite expecting it to be so breathtakingly beautiful.

The historic campus is one of the world’s most prestigious universities; part of the Ivy League, and world famous for its excellence in fields such as Business Studies and Law. We visited on a particularly busy Saturday as the Head of The Charles Regatta was also taking place that day, but that didn’t stop us from spending a morning exploring and taking snaps – the Harvard Square campus looked incredible in the golden Autumn sunshine.

No day as a Harvard Law student is complete without coffee, so to fuel our morning of explorations we began by picking up our usual Espresso and Cortado order at Tatte – a bright and photogenic bakery which we earmarked to return to for lunch should we find ourselves in the district again. After a quick catch up in the café, we crossed the road back into the campus to take some photos.

I’d opted for a neutral outfit, it was a crisp Autumnal day and I opted for a simple yet fashionable outfit comprising of my favourite cosy jumper dress and over the knee boots (perfect for a day of exploring, but also keeping legs warm!) and some statement accessories.

I don’t wear glasses everyday, but on the occasions when I choose to do so, I like them to blend seamlessly in with my outfit of the day, making my Silhouette frames the perfect choice for this look. They’re beautifully lightweight (even their case is practically weightless) making them perfect for travelling, and the elegant design is dainty and feminine, and classic enough to work with all of the outfits that I picked for this trip. What I adore the most is the individuality of the frames – when choosing them, I was able to select my preferences right down to lens shape, colour and design to ensure they would be absolutely perfect for my needs.

As with all my accessories, quality is of utmost importance, and my Silhouette eyewear is crafted in Austria with the finest materials and expert craftsmanship. Unlike many other glasses, I can wear them all day and they remain comfortable – most likely thanks to the award winning design!

I also chose to add a new texture to my look with this faux fur scarf – I love mixing this warm deep brown shade with the lighter tone of my jumper dress, and the added warmth around my neck was much appreciated in the cooler breeze.

As for my bag, I’ve bought my Gucci Dionysus Blooms bag out of storage (I’m so pleased it’s become such a classic bag!) and it’s a practical choice too – my laptop fits inside as well as my other daily essentials! My usual rose gold Monica Vinader bracelets and Astrid & Miyu rings and earrings completed the look.
