How I’m Wearing My Summer Skirts This Autumn

How To Transition Your Summer Skirts To Autumn Outfits

This year more than ever, I’m looking to transition my favourite Summer pieces into Autumn outfits, instead of shopping for New, New, New. One of my most worn pieces is a midi skirt, and this lovely one which I purchased a couple of years ago from is a year round favourite. I wear with light blouses and sleeveless tops in the Summer, but come Autumn, it looks wonderful layered up with boots, knitwear and a chunky borg coat to finish.

It’s surprising just how versatile your Summer pieces can be, if only the art of layering can be mastered. Never underestimate the versatility of a piece with boots and a knit swapped in, and even thin thermal layers for when the temperature drops. During these more mild days, ankle length boots make for the perfect footwear, whereas I’ll be swapping these for knee high, or OTK boots and hidden tights underneath for extra warmth when the temperatures drop.

A neutral toned knit is an instant autumnal update, this hooded cardigan is a current favourite – I am loving V necks for showing off my favourite jewellery pieces especially. I also wore the skirt with a smarter knit too (below) and created a feminine silhouette with a belt bag (I adore this one from Senreve!).
