I didn’t pick this dress up when I walked past it in store…
On the hanger, it was nothing special, I didn’t look twice. It was only when the personal shopper insisted that I gave it a try, that I fell in love. The brief I gave the Topshop Personal Shoppers was ‘Elegant Ibiza Chic’ and this dress nailed it in one. First of all, the lightweight fabric that hangs at the most perfect length; even for shorties like me, this length is flattering while being incredible feminine and elegant too. It can be worn with flats such as these woven mules, or perhaps some tie up heeled sandals to smarten the look.
I adore the embroidered bardot neckline – it gives the outfit a bohemian vibe which works so perfectly for balmy balearic evenings, especially if you’re staying in the more refined north of the island as we did. The off shoulder detail makes this dress a super one for catching the sun on your shoulders, or showing off your tan – a mist of shimmering body spray is all you need.
Finally, the comfort factor. I like to wear beautiful pieces when I travel but when temperatures are hitting the 30 degree mark, I need to be comfortable too. This dress is easy breezy to pull on, and the elasticated waist means that you can indulge on tapas to your hearts content, and it remains comfortable and flattering too.
